FilamentLab
Manufacturing Process & Capacity
FilamentLab has established a standardized manufacturing process for 3D printing filaments, with strict control throughout the production cycle, from raw material inspection to finished-product packaging.
Our facility covers approximately 2,000 m² of production and supporting space and is equipped with six professional 3D printing filament extrusion lines, with a primary focus on TPU 65A–95A filament.
Each production line has a designed capacity of approximately 200 kg per day, allowing us to organize production flexibly according to product specifications and order requirements.
01 | Raw Material Inspection
Before production, incoming raw materials are checked and verified according to batch information, packaging condition, appearance, and production requirements.
This helps establish a consistent material foundation for subsequent processing.
02 | Material Drying
TPU and other moisture-sensitive materials require appropriate drying before extrusion.
Drying conditions are managed according to the characteristics of each material to reduce the potential impact of moisture on extrusion stability, surface quality, and printing performance.
03 | Material Mixing
Materials are prepared and mixed according to established formulations and production requirements.
For different hardness levels, colors, and performance requirements, standardized material preparation procedures help maintain consistency throughout production.
04 | Precision Extrusion
Pre-treated materials enter our 45 mm screw extrusion systems.
Key parameters such as processing temperature, screw speed, and extrusion speed are controlled to achieve stable and continuous filament extrusion.
05 | Cooling & Sizing
The freshly extruded filament passes through a controlled cooling process for dimensional stabilization.
Proper cooling helps maintain consistent filament dimensions and roundness before the filament enters the drawing and winding stages.
06 | Precision Drawing & Diameter Control
The cooled filament passes through the drawing and measurement stages.
Drawing speed and other process parameters are controlled to maintain consistent filament dimensions, while diameter inspection helps identify variations during production.
07 | Precision Winding
After dimensional control, the filament is wound onto spools under controlled winding speed and tension.
Proper winding helps maintain an organized filament arrangement and reduces issues such as loose winding, tangled filament, or uneven spool loading.
08 | Finished Product Inspection
Finished filament undergoes quality inspection before packaging.
Key inspection items include:
Filament diameter
Roundness
Weight
Surface quality
Color consistency
Winding condition
Printing performance
Products that meet the required quality standards proceed to the packaging stage.
09 | Packaging & Storage
Qualified filament is packaged using moisture-resistant packaging according to product and market requirements.
Products are labeled and packed according to material, hardness, color, specification, and production batch before being placed into finished-product storage.
Production Capacity
FilamentLab currently operates six professional 3D printing filament extrusion lines.
Designed capacity per line: Approx. 200 kg/day
Designed capacity of six lines: Approx. 1,200 kg/day
Based on continuous production, the theoretical monthly capacity is approximately 36 metric tons per month, calculated on a 30-day production basis.
Actual output may vary depending on material type, hardness, color, extrusion speed, material changes, color changes, equipment maintenance, quality-control requirements, production efficiency, and order scheduling.
Our flexible production planning allows us to organize manufacturing according to different product specifications and order volumes while maintaining consistent product quality and delivery performance.
Quality Comes First
FilamentLab does not focus solely on production speed. We place strong emphasis on product consistency, printing stability, and batch-to-batch reliability.
Through standardized manufacturing procedures, controlled production parameters, and continuous quality management, we continuously improve production efficiency and product performance.
