Warp-prone engineering materials need controlled first-layer adhesion, stable chamber temperature and slow cooling. Strong adhesion alone can mask a process that will fail on large parts.

Prepare the bed

  • Clean and level the surface.
  • Calibrate Z offset.
  • Use an appropriate bed temperature.
  • Avoid excessive first-layer flow.

Control the environment

Keep drafts away, maintain a stable chamber for ABS/ASA/PC and cool the part slowly. Use brims or helper ears only when they are removable.

Validate

  • Corners.
  • Layer cracks.
  • Dimensions.
  • Release.

Common engineering mistakes

  • Only increasing bed temperature.
  • Adhesion too strong.
  • Opening the chamber.
  • Measuring before cooling.
  • Changing several settings.

Buyer checklist

  • Is the bed clean?
  • Is Z correct?
  • Is the chamber stable?
  • Is the material dry?
  • Does the part release safely?
